2 min read

As part of a strategic shift under new leadership at Lehigh University, the partnership between Lehigh University and QuantInsti, focusing on scholarship design for graduate programs, concluded on December 9, 2024. The collaboration has provided valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange.

Here is what you will get the details of in this article:

QuantInsti and Lehigh University have shared a fruitful partnership, leveraging their combined expertise to support prospective students in the field of financial engineering. The collaboration aimed to provide unique scholarship opportunities for individuals pursuing graduate studies at Lehigh University. The standout initiative of this partnership was the provision of scholarships for EPAT graduates. Lehigh University, renowned for its MS in Financial Engineering program, awarded a $12,000 scholarship to EPAT graduates admitted to their program, highlighting the quality and value of the education they received through EPAT.

Furthermore, Lehigh University also awarded a $2,500 scholarship to alumni of QuantInsti's Quantra Learning Tracks as they were admitted to the MS in Financial Engineering program, at Lehigh's sole discretion. These initiatives were designed to provide valuable financial support and recognition of the efforts of students who had gone through QuantInsti's rigorous programs.

With new leadership steering Lehigh University’s strategic vision, the institution has opted to reassess its approach to scholarship design across its graduate programs. As a result, the partnership with Lehigh will not be renewed beyond December 9, 2024.

Past, Present & Future Collaborations

QuantInsti & Lehigh have been working together to provide practical Mentorship and Continued Support.

Mentorship

QuantInsti’s commitment to Lehigh University’s students extends beyond the scholarship program. For instance, Jose Carlos Gonzales Tanaka, a mentor affiliated with QuantInsti, provides valuable advice on algorithmic trading to the MFE students at Lehigh University. This mentorship:

  • Occurs weekly, every Friday.
  • Focuses on resolving student queries related to algorithmic trading and enhancing their understanding of this domain.
  • This will continue even after the conclusion of the scholarship program, ensuring that the students receive ongoing support.

In another instance, as part of mentorship by Gaurav Singh, he covered the Matt Marine – Lehigh MFE Project. This mentorship included the topic “Covered Interest Rate Parity in the Crypto Space”. It helped with the application of financial theory in emerging markets like cryptocurrency, giving students a deeper understanding of real-world quantitative concepts.

Although the scholarship initiative has ended, these mentorships highlight that the partnership has not fully concluded and remains active in other impactful capacities.
