Join us in reading what Asad has to share about his journey at Quantra portal.

Hi Everyone,

I am Asad from the UK. I was trained in Computer Science from the University of London and later became a Qualified Accountant. I have been in the Finance industry for over 10 years, working as an accountant at various banks and most recently Engineering consultancy. My interest in trading goes all the way back to university days where I created a trading platform as part of my final year project work. Since then I have been trading for myself.

It is a challenge to find time to work on new strategies while managing a full time demanding job, particularly as a manual/discretionary trader. However, Algorithmic Trading allows for efficiently evaluating/testing and executing multiple strategies whilst balancing my profession. Thus I am really excited to take up this challenge of learning Algorithmic Trading and plan to complete one course in a month by Quantra.

I have enrolled in multiple quantitative trading courses including Mean Reversion Strategies by Dr. Ernest Chan and Short Selling in Trading by Laurent Bernut.

I recommend Quantra courses because the content covered is implementable. They cover all aspects of trading, from learning new strategy ideation to backtesting and then implementation using Interactive Brokers. I look forward to implementing my strategies in my personal trading soon!

Thanks & regards,
Asad Farooqi
