What makes you special?
Why should someone hire you?
What skills could you potentially have that would benefit any organisation?
Questions weigh you down if you can’t answer them, especially those about your career. And when you want to become a Quant, an Algorithmic Trader, even more so. However, the scenario is completely different when one is ready and can answer these.
But what if you have an actual experience of years in the market? Do you know you could leverage that knowledge to become an Algo Trading professional? Well, then you’re on the right track.
This is so true in the case of Karthick Jonagadla.
Karthick was a Quantitative Research Analyst, but somewhere within, he always aspired to grow, to learn and to stay ahead in the Algorithmic Trading domain. He had a need, he had a purpose, and that’s when he found a programme that would suffice all his aspirations. Let’s see how his journey came into being.
Tell us about Yourself
I’m a Quantitative Research Analyst by profession, with 5 years of experience in Equity & Derivatives Capital Market. I am an MBA and Engineering graduate working in Mumbai for the past 5 years.
I wanted to keep abreast with the latest trends in Quantitative Finance. Hence, I chose to do the EPAT program. I came across Quantinsti when I was searching for programs that would fulfil my need. Since it is a virtual program it worked out well considering my workload. Most of the classes were over the weekend, which meant that my current work schedule isn't affected.
What is your most cherished memory or instance from your journey with EPAT?
I loved Ernie Chan's lectures. It was great. My journey with EPAT has been good. I attended it remotely. I liked the portal. It was well designed and had recordings of every lecture and notes of every lecture. This helped me for reference.
How has your career shaped up after the course?
I believe, that Quantitative Finance is a secretive field where people do not share ideas. But, I learnt some good concepts and strategies through the EPAT program.
Do you have any message that you’d like to give to the aspiring EPATians?
EPAT is the foundational course for Quantitative Finance. Any person who is interested in pursuing this field can look to strengthen their domain knowledge by doing this course. The onus is on the students to explore further, beyond the course, and build their knowledge.
